Tibet Cultural Centre8648 Balatonkeresztúr

Arriving from the crawling, noisy world one can feel suddenly on the island of calmness, who visits the Tibet Cultural Centre. It lies only 2 km from Balaton, in the periphery of Balatonkeresztúr, which is the meditation centre of the Gelugpa tradition led by His Holiness Dalai Lama. The Tibet Cultural Centre built in 2000 is another world, where one does not feel the passing of time, where pomp and greatness do not count; here the things are simple and natural. Wonderful view opens to the village and to Balaton from the highest point of the centre. The church can be found on the Northern end of the estate that does not differ in anything from the other houses. A bronze statue calls attention to itself next to its entrance. The statue commemorates Kőrösi Csoma Sándor, who created the tibetology, and the first Tibetan-English dictionary.
